Cold air will sink south and bring bitterly cold temperatures to Newfoundland and Labrador.

Newfoundland has been placed under an Extreme Cold Warning.

Cold air combined with moderate to strong northwesterly winds will create very cold wind chills between minus 40 and minus 30 beginning Tuesday night.

Extremely cold wind chills will persist throughout the day on Wednesday and continue into Thursday morning.
