Double Trouble for Holiday Weekend

Posted by on Thursday, December 22, 2016

We are keeping a very close eye on an area of low pressure that is expected to pass just south of the Avalon Peninsula on Friday.

There is still a great model discrepancy as to just how much snow will fall over the area.

However, current indications are that some areas could see up to 15 cm.

Additionally we are watching a second system that is expected to move through the region on Christmas day. With regards to this low, a track further to the West is expected.

As a result, we expect a rain-snow mix for the Avalon and snow for Central and the West Coast.

We are continuing to monitor both systems and will provide updates as they become available.
