Devil's Pool - Don't Jump

Posted by on Wednesday, March 8, 2017

There lies a natural water hole perched on the edge of the Victoria Falls. Named the Devils Pool.

The only thing that stands between those who choose to swim there and a 100 metre drop is a small pile of rock.

Tourists frequent the area to experience the thrill themselves.

Victoria Falls is a waterfall in southern Africa on the Zambezi River at the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe.

When the river flow is at a certain level, usually between September and December, a rock barrier forms an eddy with minimal current, allowing adventurous swimmers to splash around in relative safety a few feet from the point where the water cascades over the falls.

Occasional deaths have been reported when people have slipped over the rock barrier.
