Details on the Next Atlantic Storm

A large area of low pressure will impact the Maritime Provinces beginning today and will arrive in Newfoundland on Thursday afternoon.

New Brunswick
Snow will develop near midnight Wednesday night and persist into Thursday over most areas. Snow may mix with or change to ice pellets and freezing rain over eastern sections. Highest snow amounts are expected over the eastern half of the province.

Prince Edward Island
Snow will develop Thursday morning then likely mix with or change to ice pellets Thursday with a risk of freezing rain. Snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 centimetres is possible.

Nova Scotia
Snow will begin Wednesday evening change to ice pellets and to freezing rain by Thursday morning. 10 centimetres of snow is expected over parts of the province.

Newfoundland and Labrador
Snow is expected to begin on Thursday over western Newfoundland. Snow, freezing rain, and rain can be expected elsewhere across the Island. There will also be strong winds on Thursday along the west coast.
