The death toll continues to rise in Malawi, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe.

550 have been confirmed, that number could reach 1,000 or more as waters begin to recede.

There are still thousands stranded awaiting rescue.

Aid workers are trying to get food, water, and medicine to victims.

Intense Tropical Cyclone Idai is regarded as one of the worst tropical cyclones on record to affect Africa and the Southern Hemisphere as a whole.

In the immediate aftermath of Idai, UNICEF estimated that about $10 million is required for the most urgent needs of children in Mozambique.
