Deadly Earthquake With 297 Aftershocks

A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck the eastern Philippines on Thursday, followed by 297 aftershocks.

The earthquake resulted in the deaths of three people and injuries to 72 others.

Rescuers pulled 13 people trapped in a collapsed commercial building.

They are presently inspecting the structural integrity of various infrastructure in the affected areas.

Leyte is a province in the Philippines located in the Eastern Visayas region, occupying the northern three-quarters of Leyte Island. Its capital is the city of Tacloban.
