Over the past 6 hours the sub-aurorial area of Canada has been experiencing unsettled with active intervals of solar activity.

Conditions are expected to remain unsettled for the next 24 hours.

A G-2 watch has been issued by the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center.

A coronal hole high speed stream, is likely to cause geomagnetic storming at the G2 level on 4 August 2017, and at the G1 level on 5 August.

This comes at a time when there is a major telephone outage affecting Atlantic Canada. Bell and Telus along with Virgin, and Koodo customers are the hardest hit.

This has impacted 911 service as well.

TV and internet services are also being affected.

We are unsure how long this outage will last.

This could be the reason for the outage, however this not not been confirmed by Bell or Telus.

Stay tuned for additional updates.
