Cooler weather & Rain dampen B.C. wildfires

In British Columbia there are currently 221 active wildfires burning across the province.

There has been some welcome relief however. Both rain and cooler weather on the weekend may have helped decrease the wildfire situation. As a result some of the smoke has cleared but the homes are without power, though BC Hydro was trying to restore it, he said.

Also a campfire ban still remains in place.

So far this year the BC Wildfire Service has spent about $108 million to fight fires.
