Significant rainfall is possible Wednesday into Thursday for Atlantic Canada. The heaviest rain will be over southeastern Newfoundland and eastern mainland Nova Scotia and southern Cape Breton. It appears as though 50 to 70 mm of rain is possible in a short period of time.

With regards to wind speeds, some strong winds are expected. Over southeastern Newfoundland and the Avalon Peninsula, however. However, the strongest wind will remain offshore. Winds gusts up to 80 km/h are possible for some areas of southeastern Newfoundland and the Avalon Peninsula.
