Cold Weather Grips Southern Ontario

Some cold weather is impacting Southern Ontario.

There is an Extreme Cold Weather Alert in effect for the City of Toronto.

The Medical Officer of Health issues an Extreme Cold Weather Alert when Environment Canada forecasts a temperature of -15°C or colder, or a wind chill of -20°C or colder, for the City of Toronto.

Temperatures on Monday night are expected to range from minus 10 to minus 14 across Southern Ontario. Wind chills are expected to be anywhere from minus 18 to minus 24.

Then on Tuesday night, wind chills of minus 25 to minus 30 are expected.

During extremely cold weather conditions, please call or visit vulnerable family, friends, and neighbors, especially isolated seniors.

Other groups at risk include people with pre-existing heart conditions or chronic respiratory illness, infants and young children, people on certain medications, people who work or do physical activities outside for extended periods, and people who are marginally housed or homeless.
