Coating of Snow in Newfoundland

Posted by on Tuesday, November 22, 2016

An area of low pressure will push across Newfoundland throughout the day on Wednesday and Wednesday Night.

As it does so, snow is expected over Labrador with a rain-snow mix in Newfoundland. The Avalon should predominantly stay as rain.

As the system pushes a cross Newfoundland, snowfall amounts are expected to be anywhere from 2 centimeters to as much as five centimeters on Wednesday night in spots along the west coast, central Newfoundland and on the Northern Peninsula.

Over higher elevations of the Long Range Mountains reach 10 centimeters is possible.

Meanwhile, in Labrador snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 centimeters is likely over southern sections.
