China's Pollution Problem

Posted by on Saturday, September 3, 2016

It should come as no surprise that China has a problem with air pollution.

In 2010 the Chinese environmental protection agency surveyed 113 cities and found that a third of them failed to meet national air standards.

Only one percent of the population breath air considered safe.

Air pollution had been linked to 1.2 million premature deaths in China.

Pollutants in China include sulfates, ozone, black carbon, flu-laced desert dust, and mercury.
