Central Newfoundland Will See Some Snow

A low pressure system is expected to clip eastern Newfoundland today bringing some rain to eastern and central sections of Newfoundland, however in Central Newfoundland, around Buchans through Grand Falls-Windsor, and Gander, temperatures will be cold enough that the precipitation may briefly fall in the form of snow.

Snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 cm of snow is possible in the heaviest precipitation.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Buchans and the interior, Connaigre, Gander and vicinity, and Grand Falls-Windsor and vicinity.

Remember that posted speed limits are for ideal travel conditions. Driving at reduced speeds is the best precautionary measure against any misfortune while driving on slippery roads. "Black ice" is invisible.
