Canadian Navy Particiapes in World’s Largest Maritime Exercise

Halifax-class warships Her Majesty’s Canadian Ships (HMCS) Calgary and Vancouver, and their nearly 500 sailors departed Esquimalt Harbour Monday to participate in Exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC), the world’s largest international maritime exercise. 

The exercise will take place from June 30 to August 4 around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California.
The focus of the exercise will be to enhance interoperability for a wide range of potential operations and strengthen partnerships with other Navies.

Typically in this part of the world the weather in can be described as very summer-like with lots of sunshine and warm temperatures. Daytime high temperature average in the low 30's. Nighttime temperatures only dip into the low to mid 20's. July's rainfall is typically one of the lowest for the year.
