With how cold it has been lately, some people may be thinking, can the battery in my car freeze?

Yes, it can, but the good news is that it has to get really cold for a modern car battery to freeze.

The temperature has to drop to -60°C. That is for a 100 percent fully charged battery. On the other hand, a fully discharged battery can freeze at or around zero degrees.

At the same time, if a battery is damaged or has poor connections or a charging system that isn't functioning properly, it can also stop working at the freezing mark.
