Blizzard and Strong Winds for Parts of Newfoundland and Labrador

A low will be over the Labrador Sea by tonight.

The counter-clockwise spin will send some strong winds to north facing shores in Newfoundland.

Overnight wind will gust to 100 km/h over some areas. wind will ease by tomorrow morning.

There are wind warnings in effect for Bay of Exploits, Bonavista North, Bonavista Peninsula, Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity, and Northern Peninsula East.

Meanwhile, blizzard conditions are expected along the coast of Labrador.

Snowfall accumulations of 15 to 30 cm are expected along with wind gusts to 80 km/h giving whiteout conditions in blowing snow.

There are blizzard warnings for Hopedale and vicinity, Nain and vicinity, and Postville - Makkovik.
