We round up the biggest five ship's ever built.

5. Esso Atlantic

The two ships of the Esso Atlantic class, Esso Atlantic and Esso Pacific, were two of only seven ships to surpass a half million tons deadweight in maritime history.

When plying the sea, the vessels had a fully laden draft of 25.3 metres, rendering them unable to navigate the English Channel, the Suez Canal or the Panama Canal when loaded up to capacity.

4. Batillus

Batillus was a supertanker, built in 1976 by Chantiers de l'Atlantique at Saint-Nazaire for the French branch of Shell Oil. The first vessel of homonymous Batillus class supertankers.

3. Pierre Guillaumat

Pierre Guillaumat was a supertanker, built in 1977 by Chantiers de l'Atlantique at Saint-Nazaire for Compagnie Nationale de Navigation.

Seawise Giant, later Happy Giant, Jahre Viking, Knock Nevis, Oppama, and finally Mont, was a ULCC supertanker and the longest ship ever built. It possessed the greatest deadweight tonnage ever recorded.

1. Prelude FLNG

Prelude FLNG is the world's second floating liquefied natural gas platform as well as the largest offshore facility ever constructed. 
Construction started in October 2012. It was launched in December 2013. The ship has a displacement of 600 million kg.
