Biggest Polluter in the U.S.

James H. Miller Jr. Electric Generating Plant is a coal-fired electrical generation facility sitting on approximately 800 acres in West Jefferson, Alabama.

The plant has four units, the first opened in 1978.

The James H. Miller Jr. was cited by The Weather Channel and the Environmental Protection Agency as the largest emitter of greenhouse gasses in the United States.

The plant is owned by Alabama Power. The company has sever plants that run on fossil fuels.

 It is one of four U.S. utilities operated by the Southern Company, one of the nation's largest generators of electricity.
