The winds will shift to the north on the Avalon Peninsula Thursday that will cause some cooler temperatures over the area.

As a result the rain that will fall on Thursday morning may change over to snow.

Some areas could receive the first accumulating snowfall of the season. Snowfall accumulation should generally be no more than 5 cm.

The snow is forecast to taper off on Thursday afternoon, however, it could make driving dangerous in some areas motorist should be prepared for winter driving conditions.

By Thursday night skies will clear.

Another system moves in on Sunday and could bring some more rain.
