We just experienced the hottest month ever in August.

That has made 2016 the hottest northern summer ever.

Once again this year the Northwest Passage has seen an ice-free summer.

The August 2016 temperature departure of 0.92°C above the 20th century average of 15.6°C has beat last years record of 0.05°C.

Additionally the global land and ocean temperature in June to August was 0.89°C above the 20th century average of 15.6°C.
