The MV Atlantic Vision was stuck outside Placentia Bay for 10 hours on Thursday.

The ship departed North Sydney at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and was scheduled to arrive at 10:00 a.m. yesterday. However high winds pevented the ship from docking until 8:00 p.m. last night.

It has been a difficult few days for Southern and Eastern Newfoundland. Earlier this week there were rainfall warnings in effect for Burgeo - Ramea and Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity. There were special weather statements in effect for the Avalon Peninsula North, Avalon Peninsula Southeast, Avalon Peninsula Southwest, Burin Peninsula, and St. John's and vicinity.

Winds were also gusty coming from the south gusting to about 80 km/h.

MV Atlantic Vision is a fast ro-pax ferry owned by the Estonian ferry company Tallink, under charter to the Canada-based Marine Atlantic.
