Atlantic Canada to be Hammered With Winter Storm

Posted by Kyle Brookings on Saturday, February 23, 2019

The same area of low pressure that is striking Ontario and Quebec will move into Atlantic Canada.

Snow is expected to commence over southwestern New Brunswick and southern Nova Scotia late Sunday afternoon. Snow will spread to the remainder of the Maritimes overnight.

Snow will change to ice pellets over Nova Scotia and then change to rain. Snow will also transition to rain over extreme southern New Brunswick and over Prince Edward Island prior to dawn on Monday.

The snow enters southwestern Newfoundland early Monday morning and will spread across the Island. There is a chance of seeing the snow mix with rain along the south coast, particularly on the southern Avalon.

The low will linger on Tuesday producing some additional flurries along the west coast of Newfoundland and also for those in Labrador. It will be a similar setup on Wednesday.

The region will also experience gusty winds.
