Atlantic Canada Storm Update

Snow will spread across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick on Tuesday afternoon. By Tuesday evening most of Nova Scotia will see a rain-snow mix, New Brunswick will remain as snow.

Snow will spread across Prince Edward Island on Tuesday evening and quickly become mixed with rain.

Snow will engulf the south coast of Newfoundland on Wednesday and spread northward across the Island. By evening snow will become mixed with and then change to rain for most areas. 


Strong winds are expected across Atlantic Canada.

Heavy rain is expected for some areas on Thursday.

Marine Atlantic advises customers that due to high winds and sea conditions the North Sydney to Port aux Basques crossing schedule for Tuesday at 12:30 pm is now scheduled to depart at 11:45 pm. Also the Port aux Basques to North Sydney crossing for Tuesday at 11:45 am is now scheduled to depart Tuesday at 11:45 pm.

Marine Atlantic says that crossings for Tuesday evening and Wednesday will likely be impacted also. 

On the Cabot Strait winds are expected to gust to 45 knots on Tuesday evening and waves of 5 meters.
