An area of low pressure stalled off the coast of Labrador will continue to cause snow squalls today across parts of Newfoundland.

Snow squalls are expected to form off the west coast of the Island and intensity tonight.

There is a risk of snow squall across the Avalon and northeast coast.

On the west coast there is the potential for 15 to 20 cm of snow.

These conditions will persist on Thursday with another 5 to 10 possible.

Marine Atlantic has issues also. On the Cabot Strait seas will be 5 to 7 metres today with winds gusts to 60 knots (110 km/h) along the coast.

As a result the crossings schedule for today have been cancelled.

Also there is a potential impact to the crossings Thursday.
