Another Storm for Atlantic Canada?

Posted by on Tuesday, January 19, 2016

A low pressure system that is expected to bring large amounts of snow to parts of the United States Northeast over the next few days looks like it will visit Canada as well, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland to be exact.

It appears Nova Scotia will begin to feel its effects as early as Saturday night. Mostly snow or a rain snow mix is currently expected. 15 to 20 cm is not out of the question for coastal sections of Nova Scotia.

For Newfoundland we expect the Burin and Avalon to be the hardest hit on Sunday Afternoon. Some models are showing as little as 5 cm to as much as 30 cm for the Avalon.

Very strong are also possible with this storm.

Having said all this, there is still a few days to go before we have a better handle on exactly who will receive what.
