An Alberta Clipper will continue to move across Alberta and Saskatchewan on Friday.

For Alberta the snow started on Thursday. It will continue this morning, those travelling in the Red Deer area will see several hours of snowfall.

The heaviest amounts with this system are expected through the mountains and foothills west of Highway 2. The snow will taper off in Alberta on Friday evening.

10 to 15 cm of snow is possible in southwestern Saskatchewan beginning on Friday.

The snow will taper off from west to east Friday evening.

There will also be some gusty winds causing blowing snow.

An Alberta Clipper is a fast-moving winter weather system originating in the lee of the Canadian Rockies that typically brings snow, high winds, and cold temperatures.
