Air Quality Concerns for SK & MB

Posted by on Sunday, June 28, 2015
The next couple days will be quite smoky for most of Saskatchewan and central and southern Manitoba as widespread smoke is blanketing much of the region.

Some areas may see air quality index levels of 6 on Monday. Numbers from 4-6 mean a moderate health risk.

It is important to note that smoke near the ground may cause potentially high health risk conditions.

Conditions are gradually expected to improve late Monday into Tuesday as winds shift the smoke plume westward.

The Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) is an indicator of air quality, based on air pollutants that have adverse effects on human health and the environment.
