A Wet Sunday for Atlantic Canada

A large area of low pressure will forge across Atlantic Canada bringing heavy rain to some areas.

The rain started across the Maritime provinces overnight with many areas reporting rain.

The rain will continue today in the Maritime provinces and also in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The heaviest rain is expected across western Newfoundland where over the Long Range Mountains rainfall of 30 mm is possible.

Across the Maritime provinces, rain will come to an end Sunday night. Newfoundland will see some lingering showers on Monday.

There will also be areas of widespread fog.

Gusty winds are also forecast for Atlantic Canada with gusts up to 80 km/h along some parts of the coast.
