A Stormy Weekend Ahead for Eastern NL

Posted by on Wednesday, January 4, 2017

An area of low pressure will approach Newfoundland on Friday into Saturday.

The low will bring some rain or some snow to the Avalon with snow expected for Southern and Central Newfoundland.

The storm has the potential to drop 15 to 20 centimeters of across the Burin up through Clarenville and the Bonavista Peninsula and the Northwestern Avalon. Snowfall amounts may vary of course depending on the exact track.

There is still some discrepancy with regards to the exact track we will continue to monitor the situation and provide necessary updates.

Just in case all that wasn't enough, another area of low pressure will move across the region on Sunday. This one will also be mostly an Eastern Newfoundland event. Once again this low has the potential to drop some significant amounts of snow.
