A Snowy Weekend for the Avalon

An area of low pressure will pass just south and east of the Avalon Peninsula today bringing snow to the eastern half of the Island.

This will not be a major system. Generally 5 to 10 cm of snow is expected before the snow tapers off overnight.

Another system will take a similar track on New Year's Eve.

Some parts of the Avalon could get another 10 cm.

The further west, the lesser the snowfall amounts, with Gander for example only getting 3 to 5 cm.
