There have been about 300 Japanese species found off the west coast of the United States since the massive earthquake and tsunami of 2011.

In a report published on Thursday in the journal Science, there are an estimated 1 million creatures made up of nearly 300 different species have drifted across the Pacific Ocean.

There is a concern that these creatures could take over ecosystems and cause major problems with native wildlife.

Back in March of 2011 a 9.0 magnitude earthquake hit the coast of Japan causing an earthquake and tsunami that killed 15,000 people.
