A Bit of Snow and Blowing Snow for the Avalon

The area of low pressure that will pass off the coast of the Avalon Peninsula today will send some snow and blowing snow the the Avalon.

The heaviest snow is expected over the southeastern Avalon where coastal areas could see 10 to 15 cm.

For the southwestern Avalon through to Whitbourne and St. John's and vicinity 5 to 15 cm is possible.

The Baccalieu Trail will only receive about 3 to 7 cm.

A blowing snow advisory remains in place for the Avalon Peninsula North, Avalon Peninsula Southeast, Avalon Peninsula Southwest, and St. John's and vicinity. Winds will gust to 70 km/h at times.

The snow will start this morning and taper off early Thursday.
