8th Tornado of Season Confirmed in Ontario

Environment Canada has confirmed the 8th tornado of the season in Ontario.

On Tuesday, August 30th near New Liskeard a number of eyewitnesses saw a well-developed funnel cloud and managed to capture images and videos. A witnesses mentioned that the funnel cloud briefly touched the ground.

There were no reports of damage.

Environment Canada has rated the tornado as an EF0 tornado with peak winds estimated to be near 90 km/h.

An EF0 tornado can cause light damage such as broken branches, shallow rooted trees pushed over, or some chimney damage.
