7.5 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Papua New Guinea

A 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck 151 km east-northeast of Lake Murray, New Guinea, Papua New Guinea.

The earthquake struck at a depth of 35 km.

There were reports of blackouts and damage to buildings.

The quake was centered in the mountains and as such there was no tsunami threat.
