6 Dead in the U.S. more severe weather expected

Six people are dead including a 7 year old boy and 40 people have been injured following an outbreak of severe weather across the Mid-Atlantic to the Gulf Coast and lower Mississippi Valley in the United States.

There were 24 reports of tornadoes yesterday, 178 reports of wind damage, and 31 reports of hail.

To make matters worse there threat for severe weather continues today.

Isolated severe thunderstorms will still be possible from the Mid-Atlantic to the Gulf Coast and lower Mississippi Valley, with a more concentrated threat across parts of Alabama and Georgia. 

The threat for severe thunderstorms may remain relatively concentrated for a few more hours over parts of Georgia and Alabama.

Through the remainder of today and tonight widely dispersed risk for severe storms exists from parts of the Mid Atlantic region southwestward across the southern Appalachians to east Texas.
