6.1 Magnitude Earthquake in Colombia

There was a 6.1 magnitude earthquake in Colombia on Saturday.

Centered 7.5 km northwest of El Dovio, Colombia, the earthquake was at a depth of 113 km.

The earthquake happened on Saturday at 2:21 pm near the epicenter.

Buildings shook in western parts of the country.

There were no immediate reports of major injuries or damage. 

Extensive diversity and complexity of tectonic regimes characterizes the perimeter of the Caribbean plate, involving no fewer than four major plates (North America, South America, Nazca, and Cocos).
