56 Dead, 22 Missing After Flooding in China

Authorities in China say that 56 people have been killed and 22 are reported missing after parts of southern China was inundated with water after a torrent of heavy rainfall.

There are large swaths of land underwater.

Officials have reported multiple power outages, scores of flight cancellations, and train service was halted impacting some 11 million people.

Nearly 500 mm of rain has been fallen on a number of locations.

Water levels in major rivers and lakes in the southern province of Hunan have surged to alarming levels.

And it's not over yet, more rain is on the way later this week in southern China.
