40 cm of Snow Possible Across the Prairies

Posted by Kyle Brookings on Saturday, March 3, 2018

A winter storm is continuing to march across the Prairies.

Across the Calgary area another 2 to 5 cm of snow is possible. In the Banff area about 5 to 10 cm of snow is likely before it tapers off this evening.

Some gusty wind is also causing blowing snow today.

About 10 cm of snow will fall across southern Saskatchewan today.

A secondary low, a Colorado Low, will approach Saskatchewan and Manitoba late on Sunday.

It won't only be snow, but also freezing rain, blowing snow, and strong winds.

In some areas of southern Saskatchewan and Manitoba, snowfall amounts of 40 cm are possible.

Models are still not in total agreement so keep checking for updates.
