40,000 Mink Released in the Wild Thousands Die

Members of an animal rights group released 30,000 to 40,000 Mink in Minnesota.

The animals were in captivity at Lang Farms near Eden Valley.

In total the animals were worth $750,000.

Following the release after thousands were found dead due to the heat and dehydration.

Someone dismantled parts of the exterior fence of the farm and that is how the animals escaped and let the mink from their cages.

The Tri-County CrimeStoppers group is offering a $1,000 reward for information, and Fur Commission USA announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrests.
