38 Dead After earthquake strikes Italy

At least 38 people are dead and that number is expected to rise as a 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck central Italy early Wednesday at 3:36 a.m. local time.

Following the initial earthquake, there were 60 reported aftershocks.

Several cities have massive damage and there are still people trapped below rubble calling for help. The hospital in Amatrice was badly damaged by the quake, with patients moved into the streets.

The earthquake struck 6.6 km west-northwest of Accumoli, Italy at a depth of just 10 km.
