Spring is officially upon us. While the calendar may say that spring is here, Mother Nature doesn't always abide by the calendar. Here are three things to know for this spring.

1. A cold start: Aside from our system Monday and Tuesday, temperatures will be below seasonal with daytime highs only ranging from minus one to minus ten. There will be a brief warm-up next weekend.

2. Above and Below Normal Temperatures: Southern Newfoundland will likely see above normal temperatures through April and May. The west coast, north coast, and the Avalon will likely experience below normal temperatures. Across Labrador temperatures should be normal, except for the coast where below normal temperatures are expected.

3. Precipitation will be normal for most: Newfoundland will see near normal precipitation. In Labrador, above normal precipitation is expected for the north and along the coast.
