On Sunday 200 mm of rain fell in a swath from Boston to Long Island.

Heavy rains flooded streets and washed cars away.

Rescuers performed several rescues of people stranded in their cars.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for parts of Essex County in northeastern Massachusetts until 2:15 p.m. EDT.

Cars were floating down streets.

Salem Hospital suffered flooding also and as a result the hospital had to divert patients to other facilities.
