180,000 People Evacuated Over Flood Concern

Storms earlier this month has caused heavy damage to the Oroville Dam.

Oroville Dam is the tallest dam in the United States standing at 235 metres.

More than 180,000 people living along the Feather River have been evacuated.

The storms have hindered the safe release of floodwater and threatening the structural integrity of the spillway.

Oroville Dam is an earthfill embankment dam on the Feather River east of the city of Oroville, California, in the United States.

Construction began on the dam in 1961.
