16 Dead from Typhoon Hato

At least 16 people are dead after a deadly typhoon ripped through southern China.

Typhoon Hato brought heavy rain that quickly overwhelmed streets and caused extensive flooding.

153 people are injured.

Power outages continue to plague the region.

Locals say that water came too suddenly.

It wasn't only the heavy rain, Hato roared into the area Wednesday with winds of up to 169 km/h.

Almot 27,000 people were evacuated to emergency shelters.

Train service and flights were cancelled.
